I have a 52 inch rear projection TV bought it in 2006 and had no problems until it started to get darker and darker and I had to adjust the contrast/brightness up on every show, it also developed a "film" over the screen and had greenish fluffy type distortions that started on the bottom and eventually went all over, luckily at the time the warranty still was good and the repairman came out and put a new light engine in and everything was perfect until 2 weeks ago when the darkness re appeared and green splotchy areas have shown up in the bottom of the screen in a line and now these spots are all over. I took off the back over the weekend and vaccaumed it up and cleaned off the dust but didn't remove the light engine due to the fact it looked complicated. Is this problem dust in the engine? If so, this has been only a year. Is there any other way to service this model or do I have to buy the light engine and replace that again?
