The remote for my 2700a works only intermittently. It's normally OK when I turn on the box but quits after a while, and may or may not start to work again.
if that doesnt fix your issue trust me i bougth a 2700 new about 5 months later remote failed purchased new one for it for 16.00 usd or theres cheaper ones on ebay for around 5.95 +shipping
