Hi :-) Using a FLU with 297 bin. Was on Bev but followed instructions here to move my dish to 110 and it worked! Thanks to all you guys are great. Installed new bin. deleted all channels and wiped it clean. Restarted it. Scanned new echo sats and it brought channels in and lit right up! Fantastic! EXCEPT - it appears all my channel names are wonky. What says mlb is actually adult channels, says weather channel but its a movie channel, etc. Guide shows correct program but channel names are all incorrect. Any ideas why? Also a few "vu" channels listed when there shouldn't be on DN, looks like "ghosts" of old bev channels.
To make a long story short, how can I best fix this? Do I need to manually change each name one by one? (ugh!) I can do that but there must be an easier way. even changing them all in channel master seems like alot of work. How can I wipe it clean and rescan to ensure it all comes up correct??
Any ideas from anyone would be appreciated as always :-)
There's also the possibility that your Sat is not perfectly aligned to the DN sats. A scan will only scan the Sat you're pointed at and if you pick up any BEV channels, realign your dish.
The software just gets confused with BEV channel numbers, etc.
1. Menu/channel Edit/password Delete all channels in BEV. 2. Delete all channels in 110W 3. Delete all chanels i any unwanted satellite. 4. Save and rescan 110.
Nalin you say 1. Menu/channel Edit/password Delete all channels in BEV. Why? they are no channels from Bev to delete Krunch said Looks like "ghosts" of old bev channels. In the Channel/Edit/menu how do you delete a ghost?
Krunch said Installed new bin. deleted all channels and wiped it clean.
3. Delete all chanels i any unwanted satellite. What satellites are you talking about?
Krunch said that his dish is pointed to 110
2. Delete all channels in 110W 4. Save and rescan 110.
Krunch read Abby post above he has your answer. Align your dish and watch TV.
After correctly aiming the dish and doing scans, select "echostar package" to fix the EPG and input correct names and in numerical order...sort by sid..

People like you who can't understand th e full change of events, should not be posting here. The conversation is finished and the instructions have been given.
I bet nalin is some 4ft 10inch 350lb woman wannabee geek, hiding behind a puter, locked in the basement by some mental institution for the rest of her life...cause she wouldn't last 2 seconds on the streets in ANY country!
Hi all thanks for replying and trying to help out (just logged back in finally).
And yes, I did in fact move my dish to 110, and the process seemed to work perfectly. Even bought a little 10 dollar "satellite finder" and used instructions here to aim it and sat finder to finetune the signal. Signal is strong on echostar according to onscreen as well.
Deleted EVERYTHING. Wiped all channels, unchecked sats that were checked before. Then powered off and restarted the box. Comes up clean, no sats, no channels all deleted. Then I scanned echo, (several options in my list, echo 3, echo 7, 3 or 4 others)and channels did come in. But still channels names are all wrong. Deleted all and tried it again. Again channels come in great :-) but channel names are random. The guide itself, the RIGHT side of the screen, shows the correct current program, the left side might say "news" when its actually a PPV channel.
The only thing I didn't do was "factory reset", as I was afraid I was going to lose all my sat info and don't want to have to recreate sat entries. Will a factory reset wipe those? And if it does, can I re-enter the 297 puff bin and bring them back? (ok, looks like that bin is dead for everyone, the next bin that comes out).
Thank you again for replying all, it helps us newbies out little by little and is appreciated! :-)
Thank Nalin I have copied and pasted that and will try it on next puff bin. I was afraid to do that, but I was afraid to move my dish to and that worked great :-) Thanks again
