Here's my system: PC with a Twinhan 1020A, connected directly to an dual DSS lnb. My system was working fine for quite a while when things started going south. When I do a full scan (using either DVB Dream or MediaPortal) I only get the vertical transponders. I searched on the net and ended up swapping the LNB and the cable but no success. Today I pointed my dish at 91 and got both H &V transponders: pointed back at 82 and only V transponders. I've measured the voltages and am getting 13 and 18 volts and I've tried a second card. Any ideas? hopefully I've provided enough info.
If this is a new installation Yor scan settings somehow specifying Vertical TPs
Yo did provide important information by measuring voltage It means yo didn't blow the power capacitors and by scaning 91 and getting both it means yor receiver and LNBs are fine
So here is what I think Make sure no other coax attached It has to be an antetenna setup issue not hardware In yor antenna setup there is a screen somewhere selcting V Scan only Change that back to V&H or All and re-scan once again
I've removed the extra cable from the LNB. The .ini file for DVB Dream has both H & V transponders listed and as it scans, it finds teh V ones just fine (lvl 80% qual 40%) but on the H transponders it shows no signal. I might try re aiming the dish, but a couple of weeks ago it was working just fine.
Yes Slightly off Pointing or skewing can cause that But I still think it's setup issue
Select a different H TP in antenna setup Like 12414 or 12443 See if Q shows any level This has no affect on scanning But at least will tell yo if pointing is the issue
I tried manually scanning 12414 and 12443 no joy. It is not picking up a signal. I dont think it could be a set up issue since nothing changes when I point at 91 except selecting the satellite name. I'm stumped.
Are yo able to select one of these and try to move dish left or right slightly to pickup TP signal
Cuz it appears to me now that it might be a pointing issue Selecting a (L) pol or (H) while moving dish in a way yo can monitor Q level Yo can be ponting to something else
I got a question for yo I hope yo don't mean dual DSS LNB as twin LNB Cuz if yo are using a twin LNB entire dish must be skewed either clockwise or counter clockwise
If yo are using just one LNB for one satellite then skewing is not applicable
Can yo confirm if yor using Twin LNB or just Single?
No its not a twin: it's just a signal. I'll try and play around with the pointing. When I go to do a scan, DVB Dream lists all the transponders and shows if there is a signal by each one. for some reason, none of the H one show a signal. More to follow.
First yo had a missing word Later corrected it with a wrong word
Go work on yor grammar Diaper Head This is an englic forum MOFO We ain't got time for Diaper babies here
adam had a highly technical issue yo will never understand What got my attention that he did all the right things and still had Horizontal pol problem Somehow he was locked at a new near by satellite We went thru all the basics and we got the problem solved Read this thread 10 times so yo can finally understand something about satellites
