sanjay,
No way that will work.

You need a USB to RS232 Adapter.

Sanjay. If you use the adapter HD15F to DB9M you will blow up your computer AND satellite receiver.

Is that clear ?

Do NOT repeat NOT use the adapter.

Go and buy a real good USB to RS232 converter. One that works 100% sure is the I/O Gear USB to Serial/PDA Converter Cable (GUC232A) I have tested it with Win98, Win 2000, XP and Media Center

It works correctly.

You could try to buy an usb docking center for your PC... I have a desktop PC with a usb laptop docking center (targus) is the name. It has all the usb and serial ports... lan , printer etc... I have a HP PC that didn't have a serial port so I originally bought it for my HP PC but it works for my clone(self made) PC too.
OH and cartier stfu
