c/p

replace the linear lnb with a circular lnb. locate and peak echostar 7 at 119, lock down disk. replace with linear lnd . set antenna as with 121 with lo frequency st to 10750. signal and quality will be zero since there is no transponder listing yet. do blind scan to locate active transponders. channel will populate with international as well as the play*boy channel.

nel rib asked: "what set up is needed for 118.75. is it the same as 121."

It is not the same as 121
A lot of internationals have moved from 121 to 118.7. It is KU Band but requires 30-33" Dish. You will need a Universal LNB SPECIFIC to 119/118.7 combination.

You can get one at
http://www.partsforhdtv.com/lnb-circular-dss-10750-11250-c-81.html?gclid=CJbi8pG qqJACFQdEFQod8iT67A

Also lots of them at ebay. Also from DN as a kit.

You can try and swing the 121 dish to line up with 118.7 and see if the current LNB works. You have to do it anyway. You will probably need to change the LNB, or you may get by with a signal amplifier.

you need at least 33" dish and circular LNB to get 118.7

Mane,
118 requires a liner LNB not Circular as stated above please do not confuse this.

Nel Rib,

Go get a motorand QPH-031 for your 31" dish 100's of internatal channel;s on true FTA that are in the clear ( WORKING meaning you can watch them) All the time no BIN files Needed!

I can get it with my qph-031 and 31" motorized dishso it can be done

Go to lgnsat and get the transponders for it and scan it...it is LOW power so most will be very low signal and quality but will come in..

liner lnb you use for gettingHere are the steps to convert your standard linear LNB to a circular LNB to be used for satellites broadcasting in the FSS using circular polarization such as Anik F3 at 118W.

Materials needed:
a) Sharp knife
b) Plastic strip (an expired credit card, or your ROM3 CAM's are good for this purpose)
c) Ruler
d) Teflon tape
e) Screwdriver or butter knife (I used the butter knife)

Note:
If you remove the dustcap of a circular lnb and a standard linear lnb, you would notice an obvious difference. It is the absence and presence of a plastic strip inside the feedhorn of the linear and circular lnb's, respectively.

Procedure:

Remove the lnb's dustcap by first twisting and pulling it out of the feedhorn until there is enough gap for you to insert your screwdriver/butter knife (if you can not twist it, just go ahead with the next step).

Pry the dustcap off the feedhorn. Don't worry, there is nothing that gets damaged inside.

(Sorry, I did not take pictures of my project).

If you examine the inside of the feedhorn closer, you will see notches where you will insert the plastic strip.

Using your sharp knife, cut a strip from your plastic card measuring 19mm wide (to allow for error) by 32mm long (my strip is 40mm long). Actually, the plastic strip inside the circular lnb measures 18mm x 32mm. Try to insert your strip along the notches inside the feedhorn oriented like a forward slash, if it won't go in, just scrape the sides of your strip until you can insert it...make sure it is reasonably snug.

Wrap a few turns of Teflon tape around the rim area of the feedhorn if you damaged a part of it when you removed the dust cap to seal the inside of the feedhorn.

Replace the dustcap.

That's it! You're done! You now have an FSS lnb with circular polarization.

Receiver settings:

LNB type: Standard or Single
LNB freq: 10750
22KHz option = ON
121 signal here you can even convert your liner lnb to circular lnb then use for 118.7 here are steps I c&p from another side I tried it it works perfect

RTAP: Same typical carelessness.

This is about 118.75. The long list you just published does not have it, because it was not there when the list was published. Therefore your C/P is just a waste.

You earlier published another obsolete list from a June 2006 posting at Ecoustics.

The 118.7 anic F3 requires a special LNBF. with a 39" dish you may get away with your existing LNBF (circular or linear), but will get 3 db loss. You can compensate it with an amplifier. However, it is best to have the correct LNB.

http://www.partsforhdtv.com/
have the right info and LNBs. At $20 it is a good buy.

African: This RTAP keeps on intefereing wiht his old C/Ps.

Many of the internationals from 121 have been moved to 118.7 Anik F3. It is a KU band sat but requires a 30-33" dish. You also need a special Universal LNB, and if you instal this, you will get both 119/118.7. This is the direction set for you by DN
There is talk of 61.5W and 148W being reduced to make room for HD, but I have no confirmation of it.
