I just bought Sony HDR-HC3E Handycam. It is capable of putting out HDV signal 1080i through component output. While trying to playback HDV on my TV, the component output produces no picture (but sound is fine). I have to resort to watching poor quality video using composite output.
I have CRT Philips TV with Pixel Plus 2 technology (model: 29PT9421/69R). The TV manual says that two of the inputs are capable of 1080i. My DVD player when hooked to these component inputs works just fine.
I have also checked the camera setting (i.e. VCR HDV/DV set to auto, Component set to 1080i/576i, etc.)
Anyone have any clue what the problem might be? Could it be that the component cable is faulty?
