No wonder Beegee was fired from their security section... LOL

I think that Mr. Mali, if this is a true intercept, may also be on his way out...

If, not true, then it's just more feed for the rumor mill.

There is always an ECM coming !!
Thats not the question...its when that is the question people wanna know.
Not that knowing is going to prevent it from happening or anything.

If it was a damaging ECM then it would be nice to know in advance...but if its just a simple hash then big deal...wait till it happens then worry about it.

Can't see it being anything that the coders can't handle, They must be getting bored anyways.

True......I think it's good for coders to be challenged once in a while so they can keep up with the technology.

I don't know if an ecm is coming but I have begun to lose some adult channels and some ppv channels are beginning to garble. It may be the real deal. But I'm not worried. If it is Mr Viewsat will be on it and down time will be minumum. LONG LIVE MR VlEWSAT.

Nothing has been detected in the stream from what I've heard. So, I don't think the ecm has started.

But, what you've (Colin) mentioned above was proposed in early summer. It's supposed to be an attack on receivers (non-FTA) with card. That's the cam-ird protocol bit.

FTA should be able to emulated the cam-ird protocol in a new bin.

They do play nice...they did break the code...yes rumor has it that they paid for some help...big deal, why not, if thats true!...do U pay repairman to fix things around the house or your vehicle, sometimes when U can't?...I sure the hell do!...but Viewsat eventually made public their findings which enabled other FTA receivers to also break the ECM...VS could have "masked" their new realeased working bins back then in June/July with the long ECM, but didn't, allowing others to use their info..if it wasn't for Viewsat, NOBODY would be watching DN and Bev TV now on FTA..

The way I heard it was they were encrypting there bins ,not sharing , and by accident, one bin got hacked ,then the map57 was leaked /shared to other fta's camps. Not fact ,just the way I heard it happened.

Does anyone know the length of time FTA is down from ECM on an average?.....Also....Does DN have a technique to know how many people are utilizing the benefit of FTA? Thank You...Anybodys input is appreciated except for CWC's.

yes, Dave & Bev have always estimated the number of FTA illegal users by.........

a.- monitoring the number of FTAs being sold at e-bay
b.- monitoring the number of members at Dss sites promoting illegal activities (NOT ecoustics, of course)
c.- and taking aerial pictures to count number of (illegal ) FTA dishes

then they multiply it by 10 and divide it by 3.1416
