I cant seem to get the loader to find a com port. I keep getting error msgs. They say I need a null modem cable. Is this different that what came with it? thanks

What, specifically, are the messages? Your cable should say on it if it's a null modem cable. If it says nothing then it's probably just a straight thru.

I received a bad cable with the box, I couldn't upload anything. I think the cable was just regular computer cable, not null cable. Sounds like you have the same problem. i had to use null cable from pansat to upload, it worked well. just have the place you bought it from replace the cable and make sure its null cable.

if it is not a null cable problem I would suggest if you keep your computer on for long periods. try rebooting your computer. I have a dell and have comport problems and know for sure that I am using a null cable. it will not load sometimes because it has trouble with tne comport connection. I reboot and it works.

need help please . i have a viewsat 2000 palt...
and it dones not pick any sgnal ,it just say searching for signal , why is that ,cant someone tell me what to do.

dave.....try changing your LNB type to standard....of course that's assuming you have the right bin and keys.....

I have tried several times to load my new out of the box VSextreme. I was giving me just an error code. When I check the conection, it says it is connected.
Now it is saying: Resending ZRQINIT and then it says:
Frame Type 255: 70bc 2f f3, but it goes right back to Resending ZRQINIT
But the status bar is not moving and the display on the stb still says noCH.
Is it loading or what?

bucky....you need to have the rear switch off......just when you press the upload button then you turn the switch on on your receiver.....

VS is good. Loader is bad. It takes me 2 hours figuing out to load a file

i noticed on the new viewsat bins, the satellite setup shows good signal, but when going out into the channels, the signal says "searching for signal", even though i just saw there was a good signal in the satellite setup! i would just never mind the signal at the bottom, and let it autoroll and see what happens like i did. hope it works for you.

my vsat giving me normal pict than frosen pict and Searching for signal than coming back to normal and than again loosing signal. Any ideas?

I use my Dell laptop, serial port and null modem cable almost every day. It works fine. But I could not get the loader to see the VS2000 when I tried using my laptop. I rebooted, changed cables, checked device manager, etc.

I tried the same cable on my desktiop computer and it loaded fine.

When all else fails, try a different computer!!
