A bin is a file that you upload into your Pansat from your computer to allow your pansat to decrypt signals sent by DN. Every so often, DN sends an Electronic Counter Measure (ecm), which causes our receivers not to work. Then we need a new bin to counter the counter measure. This is a cycle that goes on and on. Latest ecm started last week, hopefully will be fixed soon.

When the bin is current, then DN can just change keys (codes) to try and irritate us until the next ecm.

Who did it for you before? There is all the info in these forums that you need. What kind of receiver do you have? It should have came with a serial cable when you bought it.

what you need to do is stop highjacking threads first.

then read..and you would no whats going on.

then start your own thread if you still find you need to.

diana..most all the threads here will tell you that a major ECM (Electronic counter measure) has be beamed down on us by dishnet! so..what we have to do is load a new bin file on our receivers..but the coders who make these files are working on this problem..it may take a couple of day's or longer..until then we are sol.

P.S CAPS are considered yelling and rude.

A RS232 cable should have came with your Pansat. If not, you will have to get one.

DIANA - most of the time you just need to put in new codes, however, this time a new BIN file will be made (soon i hope) you need a program to used to load the latest bin file for YOUR reciever, a certain cable for your box to attach to your PC, a new BIN file (i get them from dss-newbies dot net)then its just a matter of hitting download... bang, your reprogramed. Its easy once you do it one time... good luck!! im a recent noob also, but if you have the right attitude, ppl will help. read up!

Diana once the bin will out you have to do these steps
1)-connect RS232 cable at back of your receiver and other face at back of computer in com-1.
(you will see all these things at back of your computer its written)
2)-open the uploader for bin and click on BIN FILE IN UPLOADER it will open a window then click on file you need to download store files according to dates in your computer so that you remember them once it will be in BIN FILE section then you will see download start wait until it is complete and it show with down load complete and then take the wires off from receiver and computer and turn the receiver on after pluggung it in with stelite dish cable.
done done done.....
