Bizarre Sony DTV system failure

After a lightning storm my Sony DirecTV system (Sony Dual LNB dish, Sony SAT-A2) ceased working. The set indicated that it had detected a short, and to cycle power. I did so, and of course it gave the same error. I replaced the antenna/LNB, and virtually all the RG-6 leading to the box. Result: no more error message, and after the antenna was aligned I got 91 'hughes units' on the antenna test. However, the box searched for a signal and failed to lock. Assuming the short had damaged the box, I purchased a replacement SAT-A2. Today I hooked it up with the new antenna and new cable, only to find it also won't find any stations. Again, the self-test shows success, and I have 91 hughes unites on transponder 1 and no less than 85 on 2-20+. What's left to replace? Could I have a shorted ground-strap? Could my CAG card be fried? What is most likely to cause this sort of error? HELP!
