I bought my 50" in December, and it's been great. But about four weeks ago the TV started to intermittantly turn off by itself. It could happen at any time, and sometimes not at all for hours. Sometimes it will happen a few times. I get no blinking lights on the front button. I wait for a minute, turn it on, and every thing is fine.
Another strange thing is my remote seemed to not work properly for a few days. The light on the front would blink but sometimes I'd need to press the remote a few times for it to work. then all of a sudden, it's back to working fine. Anyone else have this issue? The service guy will be here tomorrow.

This sounds like an infrared sensor issue. It is very uncommon. The eye is under the power/LED circular button between the speakers. I think the first problem has everything to do with the second. The eye is sensing wavelengths of light it shouldn't (causing shut-off) and ignoring wavelengths it should see. (irregular remote operation)
