I purchased a MPIO FL600 as a Christmas present for my wife. The set up was smooth, and my wife easily created her own playlists. It sounds like the FL600 has similar problems to other mpio players.
When I tried to make my own playlist, I filled the gig, and then the player froze up. I turned it off and when I turned it back on it just said "please wait". I waited and eventually it went to the root directory. There were many files represented by different symbols and/or languages (ex. >@p8!. ) "My list" and "record" are also there but they do not work.
I tried following the directions in the adobe file using the mpio utility to format the player, but I ended up with the same result. I can still drag and drop files into the player, and my PC will recognize the player. My PC however will not recognize the .smx files. I simply can't get back to the default settings. The FAQ on the website does not help, the new firmware, and the adobe file does not help me either.
I went back to the store (Future Shop, the canadian version of circuit city)) and the clerk had never experienced a similar problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
