Hello all, This is the first time I have had to set up a 5.1 system. I have been reading a ton on the web concerning setting up the system but my room ( brand new!) will be set up a bit abnormal due to the sectional couch. Here is the relevant info.. room is 17'x 12'the sectional will be placed in one corner against the walls with the tv (50" sony RP LCD) in the opposite corner. Placing the center and front speakers is not the problem, its the surrounds that I dont know were to start with. They will be right above our heads along the walls were the couch will be. Will that be really bad? Should I place them further away from us? I will appreciate any advice from those of you more knowledgeable then I.
i would suggest a little distance between you and the surrounds but the best advice i can give is try several placements and see what works best for you.
