Thanks for input on HHB. Any reason(s) you would choose HHB over the Sony CDR-W33? Any knowledge/opinion on Marantz CDR631 and Tascam CDRW700 and 2000?

I own a Marantz CDR 500 and it has been a reliable recorder. HHB is over prize for what is worth and it is built by Pioneer. Marantz is by Philips of course but this one is one great deck with 2x speed, DAO and very flexible.

I own a Nakamichi MB-2s, it is a great player. But I have problems playing CDR, even if I use speciell audio-cdr (mostly TDK). Does anyone know about a updating the player or has anyone found cdr that don´t jumps during the playing

I don't use a pro recorder but I beleive the hhb's are hands down the best choice--most reliable, best sound.you can get an hhb online for about $450 thru yahoo shopping search.BTW I never heard that pioneer made hhb but either way pioneer with their elite components has a better track record than philips with marantz,or teac with tascam,or sony with es(in other words pioneer is a more trustworthy company than the others based on past performance).

How does HHB 830 (burn it) fare on playback? Can you notice high performance (transparency, channel separation, sound stage accuracy and depth, base, timing etc, or whatever ...) play back performance with the 24 bit DACs? Not concerned about the machine's recording ability here.

Have just bought an HHB 830 on ebay.
My reference player has always been a Sony CDP502 that I bought new for 700GBP, old I know but a superb mechanism.
The HHB beats it hands down on dynamic range as a player, it's superb. Haven't tried record yet but if it's as good as on playback I'll be very pleased.
