I have a Samsung homecinema system with 4 tower speakers will connecting 2 Sony ones to the 2 rear ones damage it? I mostly use it for music and want the 2 Sony ones on on desk

The Samsung speakers have the black and red connection thing, the Sony speakers have the wire attached, so the cable from the DVD player and Sony speaker will be going into the Samsung speaker

.

Connecting the speakers to each other should not damage either speaker. The problem lies in what your amplifier can do with four speakers, rather than two, as a load.

If you make a parallel connection, you run the risk of the amplifier shutting down or even blowing up.

If you make a series connection, the power output from the amp will cut in half.
