Most integrated amps are pure stereo so you can only feed 'em PCM from a DAC......or buy one of the integrated amp models from NAD which come with a built-in DAC.....as an add-in module. Clever idea.

I have my PS3 set to deliver only PCM Stereo to my DAC.....

To get multi channel sound without a HT receiver? You'll need a pre-pro and an amplifier. This is a fairly expensive proposition going in while HT tech changes on a regular basis.

Thanks, leo!

I love stereo. 5.1 is kinda too big investment (6 speakers) for me. How about slim ps3? It can bitstream dolby truehd & dts ha ma. There seems to be a different between lpcm & dolby truehd + dts hd ma: http://www.edepot.com/playstation3.html#PS3_Audio.

lpcm = 16 bit, 48 khz
dolby true hd + dts hd ma = 24 bit, 96 or 192 khz

Can integrated amplifier decode these bitstream signal? If it can, this would be awesome! Because lpcm seems to have less number here.
