Ok, my dad has been looking for a cartridge to his Pioneer Deck for a while and hasnt been able to find one.

When he bought it, he payed $50 for a M15 cartridge.

I'm trying to find a replacement cartridge for the deck.

Are these cartridges, or a replacement for them, still made? the best that we found is a radioshack piece of junk that has no volume.

I'd really appreciate it for a reply and maybe a few site that are good sources.

To my knowledge the M15 is no longer available. There's no need to replace the cartridge with an identical model; there may be no need to replace a cartridge if the stylus assembly is still available.

A cartridge is the name given to the complete unit which includes the stylus, certainly if you buy one from a dealer then this is what you will get. Moving Magnet cartidges usually have the facility to replace the stylus when worn, a moving coil cartridge usually does not. Why dont you contact a local dealer for advice, this is what the hi fi shops are for. You could probably take your deck to them and they will fit and set it up for you aswell.

I emailed ortifon so i will see what they say.

Do you have the turntable plugged into a phono input on the receiver/amplifier. If you do not have a phono pre-amp, that may be the cause of your "no volume" problem.
