Installation question

I've just purchased a new Pioneer PDR W839 for a great price, but need some help hooking it up. You see, I'm using the unit to record me DJing, which creates a little bit of a problem. I'm running two turntables and two CD decks into a mixer, with the mixer then running into a receiver. Both the receiver and mixer are analogue based. When hooking up the CD-recorder, is it safe to run a line out from the mixer into the recorder, and then from the recorder into the receiver? If this is possible, will I then lose the CD player capabilites of the Pioneer unit, as I'm using the 'play: line out' plug of the recorder to run into the receiver, instead of through my mixer (which is where all my other sources are hooked up to). It's a little bit confusing as to how I should handle this, because I don't want to destroy my new toy! Do I need a digital receiver? Any feedback would be appreciated!
