Is there any problem with connecting an equaliser to my Sony Home Theater receiver?

I bought a Sony home Theater STR-De695 receiver and connected an equaliser to this unit because I wasn't happy with the sound of the treble control of this receiver and wanted to add a little more of a tweeter sound by using the equaliser.
This is how I connected my equaliser: My CD player is connected into the INPUT of the equaliser and the OUTPUT of the equaliser is connected to the CD INPUT of my receiver.This receiver DOES NOT have a TAPE MONITOR INPUT(for connecting equalisers),so is my connection O.K.???
