I'm not a fan of Kenwood since I never owned one but the Kenwood specs for audio have better digital 'in' capability. I don't use analog for any input on my system. The old question is what do you plan to use it for? % of movies versus listening to music.

Henry,
What is your MAXIMUM budget, I would recomend getting a refurb receiver.(ie. Harman 125)

Find the cheapest receiver you can with 6-8 channel pre-outs(Marantz SR4400? Kenwood VR6060?) and upgrade to a power amp later.

You wont find much for power or quality at these levels, but the pre-amp stages are somewhat quality(respectively)in the low end Kenwoods(7060+). This would be a good option as it would leave room for upgrades as your budget increases...

By the way, what speakers are you running?

Remeber your speakers MUST be 8 ohms+ or these receiver will either, turn off and wont turn on again until the speakers are unplugged, or, turn off and blow up completely.
