alright boys i have juss bought a pair of bose 901 mark vi series speakers off a friend. they didn't not come with the equalizer unit. im looking to buy a stereo amplifier for it. recievers seem to be all i can find. i will using these speakers in my room strictly for cd and ipod.
went looking in a used store and heres what i found
- Harmon Kardon HK 6150 $150 - NAD 7020e $199 - Onkyo Integra TX-88 $105 - harmon kardon hk 6600 $110
Two of my freinds have the Bose 901s. One of them powers them with an Onkyo, the other with a Yamaha. Both receivers are older models that only do simulated surround at best and both sound awesome with the 901s. I have to say that sometimes I am a bit envious when I see how little they spent and how great thier stereo systems sound, Go with the Onkyo or comparable Yamaha. H/K have some reliability issues sometimes. Oh, and I have found the lower end Yamahas to have a more soothing, Pleasing sound than the lower end Onkyos. Migrain
