Hi, folks.

While my H/K AVR 430 is in the shop for repairs, I'm considering maybe using the AVR as a pre/pro (once it comes back) and getting a separate amp.

I'm looking for the most bang for the bucks. It should have at least 7 channels and a minimum of 80-100W. I'm looking at a price point of $1000-2000.

Please include any links to reviews and specs.

Thanks!

Ahram Lee One sugestion would be a 2 channel amp then a 5 channel amp!

You could get a really nice 2 channel amp for stereo setup to your fronts
then run the other speakers from the 5 channel amp.

Getting your front speakers a seperate amp of better quality can make a world of difference.
I even went as far as getting a 3 channel amp and a 4 channel amp.

I went with rotel and parasound.

B&k/marantz/nad/adcom are other good midbrand amp companies.

There's probably some I'm forgetting. But I feal rotel and B&K give you the
most bang for buck as of right nows prices and quality.

It may depend on your speakers and room and personal taste to the sound you want.
But any of those companies would give you good quality amplification!

If you really wanted to get crazy you could go mono blocks for the fronts and
then a multichannel for the rest. Or even farther yet a nice musical tube amp for
the mains for stereo listening if you do that!

There's many many combos you could do, it comes down to whats important for "you"

Hope that was some help and didn't make it harder with clutter!
