I just got this reciever and I'm using speakers from a JVC home theater in a box which had a passive subwoofer. On the receiver there is only a subwoofer audio out RCA jack. Is there any way to hook up my passive sub or do I need to buy a active one.
The subwoofer output RCA jack is for powered subs only. You can hook up your passive sub in a series with your front left speaker output but this may cause problems with the receiver and unless you know what you are doing I really don't recommend it, specially with that Sony.
