I got an hk avr430 a couple of weeks ago and it just started shutting off. I thought it was a safety feature for overheating but it does it in about five minutes now. I tried unhooking the cheap temporary speakers I had but no fix. Please help!
Try disconnecting all of your speakers and see if it runs. Use a pair of headphones. Maybe a stray wire from one of your speaker connections is causing it to shut down?

It does it even with the speakers unhooked and according to the many forums I've looked at it's not uncommon.
