I have a Yamaha GX500 mini system (80 x 2 @ 6 ohms and sub out). It's a suprisingly fine system for a mini, but of course the speakers are a weak link.
I am in the process of building a a small (~1500 cu. ft.) HT room and planning the whole system. I've almost settled on Axiom/SVS and ordered a PB10-ISD and a pair of M2i bookshelf units to mate to the Yamaha stereo till I choose an HT Receiver.
I'm REALLY hoping that the Axiom M2i set will blow away the little 3 way speakers from Yamaha. I have little doubt that the SV Sub will morph the system entirely, but I'm curious to hear how full the PB10-ISD will sound in my much larger (15 x 30 x 8 = 3600 cuft) living room till the HT is done.
Once I have a full HT setup I want to add another SVS sub, assuming I'm impressed with the PB10-ISD. I figure if 1 sounds good in my big room, 2 will sound great in the little room.
Next I need to pick the rest of the speakers and a Receiver for 7.2 . Any suggestions?
