QUICK! Onkyo TX-SR601 or H/K AVR-235?

At J&R, the Onkyo is $300 brand new shipped, while the H/K is $350 brand new shipped.

The H/K has 55 watts RMS compared to the Onkyo's 85 watts, but many people have claimed that the H/K sound as loud or louder than many receivers rated at 100 watts RMS.

I've already ordered the Onkyo today but it hasn't shipped yet, so I have probably another 24-48 hours to change my mind...

What's your vote?

My application: 60% DVDs, 40% music (classical, jazz, rock but no rap or techno). Running a pair of cheap Yamaha bookshelf speakers, a Wharfedale center, and a JBL sub in a pretty big room (10x15?) with high cathedral ceilings. I want full, rich sound---to feel immersed in it. Definitely SQ over sheer power.

The Harmon Kardon will sound richer and fuller.

Looks like I'll just have to test out the 601, since it's already in the mail set to arrive on Thursday.

I'll return it if it sounds really bad and get either the AVR-235 or the 3480 which is stereo only but does have a sub output and gets a nice 120 wpc.
