Hi guys, I am trying to help a buddy buy a receiver, and we have narrowed his choices to the sony strda3000es and the yamaha rxv1500. He will be running it for only movies, no music, with klipsch heritage series speakers and 2 paradigm 10 inch subs. He does not need automatic set-up. Which one is better for movies, and does the sony do multi-room?

Thanks guys

Definitely the Yamaha is the better buy. I urge you to listen to the Flipsch/Yamaha combo to see if you like the sound. The Klipschs can be quite bright, you should also look at Harman Kardon, Pioneer Elite, and Marantz

Neither. Klipsch need a much warmer reciever or get way too bright and shrill for my ears. See dyanco.com for the Elite vsx52 and 54. Very low prices. Marantz and H/K would also work very well.
If you guys are set on the Yamaha or Sony I would take the Yamaha. Sony and Klipsch togther is one of the worst combos I have heard and I've heard them many times over alot of years.
