ok ok so I shelled out a bunch of money for my new HK AVR 230 still $500 cheaper in america than up here in Canada. Anyway, I'd like to stay cheap but still want quality.

Fluance SX-HTB 5 speaker set or a couple of Athena audition bookshelves and build my way to a set, that's the question....

I have heard some knocks on Fluance's crossovers, and their genaric drivers

Scott,

Contrary to receivers, speakers age very well and they don't come up with new and improved models all the time. With that in mind, feel comfortable buying used (ebay or audiogon)! That's where the bang for the buck is at.
