Can I get a separate box with VU meter and plug it to my receveier (Yamaha htr5760).

Nothing critical, I just love the VU meters.

VU meters run off voltage before the power amp and I know of no one who offers them as an optional outboard unit. You can buy VU meters and assemble a system yourself if you're handy.

If you just have to have meters you can get an old Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, etc. cassette deck from the 70's with the biggest meters you can find. Put it on a tape output, set it to "record" and "pause" and watch the meters jump around. If you want it to jump with your volume changes split your pre outs and send one to the tape deck. Vintage audio sites are good sources for under $100.

Check the Logitech web site for Vu meters in a rack mount. I like them too. The leds are ok but no fun to watch.

I love those VU meters too! My friend's older had two huge (3" wide?) VU meters hooked to his Mac. I've done the "tape out" thing with an old amp, but it's not the same. I want to buy two free standing VU meters and hook them up.

Is Logitech the best source for these?

Thanks.
