Connect sound blaster 5.1 card to receiver

i found out from some forums that when a sound card connected to a receiver---not all the speakers make sounds...so im planning to connect

2)i will buy Y-CABLE(1) 1/8" TO 2 RCA MALE PLUG CABLE

3)i will buy a used receiver and speakers from ebay under $150..i dont know which one i want to buy from ebay because there are a lot
