I have a Sony STR-SE581 reciver, and it turns on fine, but after 4 seconds, it goes into "protect mode." I have tried many things, i cleaned out the terminals, and blew it out with a air spray, And still it comes up as "protect." Can someone Please help me out on this matter.
the protect message usually comes on after the unit overheats and by then it is too late.

The power amplifier transistors are out on one of the channels and that makes the protection circuit to work in order to not damage your speakers with dc voltage. Good luck with the repair!!!!
