hello, i have a pioneer vsx-d412 receiver. it says that it can push 100 watts. Is that the same 100 watts that an 812 or onkyo rated @ 100 pushes? would soundstage be increased. And would that harshness of mids and treble be reduced at higher volumes if i got a better receiver?..... or would getting the athena asf2 make the difference(have pioneer 452 towers)... i already have 2 sealed 12" subs so bass is not the problem.mids and treb just seem kind of thin, strained, and mashed together at moderately high levels. i could swear grandpa's 35 watt rms 12" floor clunkers from the late 70's on 50 watt amp sounded way better.

The Athena ASF2 will make a world of difference over the Pioneer towers and should be driven by the VSX most efficiently.
