Can anybody assist me??? I'm buying a used IBM ThinkPad 600E, can a Western Digital-Scorpio (2.5 IDE 80.0 W.D 2M 5400 WD800UE) work with this laptop? I'm pretty sure that it will fit in terms of size..... but I've been told that specific model of IBM only takes 2 Gb's max.
Thanx,
Nub.

The 2GB is referring to memory. Size will be fine, just make sure of the interface (Sata vrs IDE).

Thanks Stephen. I will check that out..... I was told the max memory(RAM)is 288 MB, is that true? Maybe, more if I were to 'fiddle' with the BIOS? ...2GB would be AWESOME! as I plan to run Ubuntu-linux on the machine. If I can push limits I'll try Photoshop.
Thanks again.
Ian.

Well 288MB is for the memory it looks like. You should still be fine with the upgraded hard drive though (80GB is well within the limits of most operating systems). 2GB as max hard drive size is BS in either case.
