I bought a firewire pci card with a NEC chipset. When I plug in in and restart my computer, everything gets real slow and clitchy. The card is recognized and works fine, but the processor performance jumps between 25% and 40%, constantly. When I disable the device everything goes back to normal. Is there anything I can do about this and why is it happening?
