New member Username: JlandryPost Number: 10 Registered: Jul-04 | What speaker wire should I use in wall to wire in a surround sound in my home? What gauge etc? Also what gauge to use for non in wall speakers? |
Lester Unregistered guest | Depends on the lenght of the run. http://www.roger-russell.com/wire.htm 14 gauge all around should be more then adequate. 16 would probably be fine too. Just to point out, wire gauge has nothing to do with it being rated for in wall use. http://www.wildtracks.cihost.com/homewire/wg_types.html Have fun! Oh.. on a personal note... I wouldn't use Monster Cable. |

Lester Unregistered guest | HD does carry speaker wire. You can also order on line. Search "speaker wire" or "16 gauge speaker wire". Or, find a local custom audio installer and ask to by a length of their bulk, pre wire speaker cable. Should cost ten to twenty cents a foot, depending on the person selling it to you. |
