Speaker Stands: Wood vs. Metal

Anonymous
Hey,
I am thinking of building my own floor standing speaker stands for my new bookshelf speakers to bring them up to ear level. They will be sitting on spikes, but I was wondering if the material on the stands themselves will affect the sound. I am a woodworker and I also am pretty good at welding, so either one would work. I personally would like to make them out of wood just for aesthetics. Anyone have any thoughts?

metal is better, however be sure to fill the metal with sand (If hollow)

metal and wood both are better , but check out that when u make a wooden stand , there is a chance for timber sound so use heavy wood and also when making a metal stand there is a chance of vibration if the metal is thin
