If the loss in gloss is due to dirt, dust and crud on the record, then a wet cleaning should do the job. Google "wet cleaning lp" or some variant to find different cleaning methods.
Usually a lack of sheen is due to record wear, which can't be fixed. If you say your lps play VG++ then I don't think this is the case.
