what do you guys think are some of the best war movies ever i would say
patriot, gladiator, enemy at the gates, braveheart, troy, band of brothers(mini series hbo)
just to name a couple to get it going

and i have a idea they should make a movie about like the aztec people getting there as*es kicked by the spanish

hmmm...there is a movie coming out about the Mayan civilization being made by Mel Gibson. Just pretend that they are Aztecs. That should satisfy your lust for seeing indigenous people being wiped out by conquistadores.

Oh yeah, I've always wondered about ancient civilizations in North and South America. There just isn't a lot of film on those. I just hope it doesn't end up into a lecture.

I think the title of that Mel Gibson film is "Apocalypto". Should be interesting.

Thumbs up charlie, U-571 is a great sub movie too!
I've only seen it once, but next time I will try to keep track of Jon Bon Jovi in it.
Also, the DTS soundtrack is among the best.
Makes mush of sub-quality sub-woofers.
:-)

I think most of you guys are too young. The best war movies would have to include the Great Escape, Spartacus, a euro movie from the late 70's called the Partisans

You mean real battles with a human storyline and without a lot of CGI to turn it into a cartoon?

"Full Metal Jacket"---the only war movie that really explores the mass psychology behind war.

That site reminds me of "Band of Brothers". They still want $80 for this box and how long has it been out? Good show but not worth that kinda money to me.

I remember that series was the first time I got DD 5.1 on cable.

I really liked Blackhawk Down. Predator is good too, if you can classify it as a war film.

Of course, you can't go without Apocalypse Now.

Yes, the Great Raid is awesome.
For Lee Marvin fans a good film is The Big Red One. If you like Audie Murphy, watch To Hell and Back. Another great one is The Lighthorsemen
