New member Username: Motoman22Post Number: 16 Registered: 12-2003 | the 500.1 is a mono amp, one channel can't bridge ...or do you have the 500.2? |
New member Username: GlasswolfPost Number: 293 Registered: 12-2003 | what are you trying to do exactly? are you trying to wire two subs to the amp? Mike's right. can't bridge a single channel amp, but it can handle more than one sub. |

I'm used to seeing that mistake, so I catch it pretty quickly. Yes the two sets of terminals are there to allow easy parallel wiring of two subs to the amplifier. Just because it's a mono amp doesn't mean it can only power one sub. If you have two 4 Ohm subs, that'll be a two Ohm load on the amplifier. MMATS is a good company by the way. good subs and amps. Nice choice. Bridging is when you have a two-channel amp and make it into a mono amp, or a four channel amp into two channels. this is done by enabling a button or switch which inverts one of the two channels to allow the amp's full power to be delivered to a single channel instead of two channels. www.bcae1.com had lots of information explaining amplifier bridging, how to wire amplifiers and speakers, and so forth. |
