Okey, so i have a dual 4 ohm subwoofer that has an rms of 1200watts
And i have an amp coming in the mail soon that runs a max of 1600watts and is a 1 ohm sub with 2 channels.. what I need to know is how do I wire these to not get a great loss of power?.. what would be the best solution to get the best bass/sound out of it.. I thought it was a mono but it wasn't. The amp is only temporary btw.

Your amp is 2 channel but it may be able to be wired down to a mono/single channel. You didn't give any make or model of the amp so I can only assume. You'll want to wire your subwoofer in parallel which would make it wired down to 2ohms. Assuming your amp is 1ohm mono, you'll only get whatever the amp is rated at 2ohms. If you decide to get another sub of the same make/model you can wire both subs down to 1ohm and get full power out of the amplifier.
