Hi,

I have a Kenwood 9106 AMP powering a TS-W3004SPL sub woofer. The sub woofer is wired at 1000 Watts RMS at 2 OHMs. I thought I would hear a lot of difference between my old 350 watt RMS sub woofer and this sub woofer but cant say there is much difference. The bass seems less bassy too so something is definately wrong. I do have to say, the sub woofer is put into my old box that the 350 watts sub woofer originally came in. The measurements of this box are as follows...

Length: 19 inch
Width: 14 inch
Depth: 14 inch

Calculating this, I got 2.15 cubic feet for the box. Looking at the manufacturers website, they recommend the sub woofer should be put into a 1.25 cubic feet box (35.4 litres). Is this really meant to matter? I dont want to buy another enclosure for the sub woofer if it wont make any difference.. Is there really a big difference between my old 2.15 cubic feet compared to 1.25 cubic feet? Will there be a more bassy boom if I change the box?

Thank you.
