Ive looked at both specs and cant decide... Links are below..

http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/swr-12d4

Ive read and heard that alpine type R subs are the best but these pioneer have 3500W max power while the Alpine ones only have 3000W... Does it matter, and which one emits a cleaner bass.

Base your expectation of power in RMS ratings, furthermore base your expectation of performance in the company behind a product.

From those two the Alpine is the better sub and is more expensive.

Also whichever you get buy online with amazon.com or sonicelelctronix.com to avoid paying more.

If you want a real high quality sub which will outperform both of the above go with a Fi SSD subwoofer for about 200.

Thank you very much... I'm probably going to go with the Alpine, but Im going to get an amp to match it , and the alpine has 1000W RMS and 3000W Max power, so if I get a 1000W Aircooled Amp from Kenwood, would that be enough, or should I get and 1800W one, on another note is 1800W really neccessary because it is a lot more expensive than the 1000W one?

Many Kenwood amplifiers have had reliability problems, for that sub and on a budget I would suggest:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23548_Hifonics-Brutus-BRZ1200.1D.html

From this brand name only get an amp from the Brutus line, the other lines will not put out rated power.

Also consider this one:

Runs very cool and are CEA certified.

What about alpine amps or rockford?

Rockford amps are nice but extremely expensive, Alpine amps are ok if you don't get the MRP-Mxxx series that get overly hot and eventually fail.

ok what about these three?
http://www.amazon.com/Hifonics-Brutus-BRZ1200-1D-D-Class-Block/dp/B0036B8URK

http://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fosgate-R1000-1D-000-Watt-Amplifier/dp/B002X786WM

http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-MRX-M100-Monoblock-Subwoofer-Amplifier/dp/B004XJJET2

The first one is the one you recommended earlier.

1-Hifonics Brutus
2-Rockford
3-Alpine

P.S. Thank you for all the help you have been giving.

Ok those MRX have also overheating problems, the RF is OK if you are OK with the price (but take a look at a recent thread on the amps forum with a RF amp that blew apparently for no reason), the Hifonics and the MB Quart I recommended are ok amps, the MBs are also efficent, they don't overheat at all and go easy on your electrical so it's also a good choice, for some more you can also get and AQ1200d which is also efficient, I like and own RF but honestly they are not the end of all things, is just a quality product - overpriced, to some extent similar to the JL Audio brand.

Thank you, I think I've made up my mind on the Brutus because I've been reading a lot of good reviews on it.. Plus I don't have tons to spend but, I plan on getting it before the sale on it ends, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see, its just a tough decision when it comes to amps because you dont want to pick the wrong one..But thanks again for your advice.

Other than that Alpine all will do a good job, don't be concerned, are all decent stuff, the RF will have the cool factor, if you can spend the extra cash I think is worth it.

Performance will actually depend more on your box design, your electrical, and how you setup crossovers, gains etc. Lots of fun without a doubt, best of luck.
