So i'm ballin' on a budget. I got a 98 vw golf 4door hatchback. i got 6.5's, 2-ways, infinity kappa 6.29i, in everydoor, one 10.2 kappa tweeters on each side of the dash all running off of a punch 400-4. i currently have a punch 300-1 running 2 audiobahn 10's in a sealed box. not much, but enough to vibrate the seats. i have it wired in series to 2 ohms. I recently came up on a 1500bd rockford amp, the old school silver turtle shell amp. I was wanting to maybe run like 1 12 or 1 15 because of the limited trunk space, but something nice and beefy in a good price range. a few questions. I want good sounding bass, but i still want the seats and rearview to shake.
1) what brand?
2) sealed or ported?
3) does someone on here have something in the 150ish price range?
4)will 1 12 or 15 be enough?

You probably won't find something that sounds clean, gets loud, and can handle 1500 watts RMS, for $150.

My vote would be for the Fi Q 15, or Fi BL 15. Both these subs are similarly priced around $300 and will handle 1500 watts RMS with the added power handling options. I would go with the Q if you are more sound quality oriented, go for the BL if you are more SPL oriented. Either way is a good choice IMO.
Fi BL https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/sess/utn154decf110c6416/shopdata/0050 _Speakers/0020_BL/product_overview.shopscript
Fi Q https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/sess/utn154decf110c6416/shopdata/0050 _Speakers/0030_Q/product_overview.shopscript

Another more SPL oriented choice would be the Audioque HDC3 series. The standard copper coil 15" model can handle ~1000 watts RMS and will run you $250 right now, the Aluminum coil will take more power but will run $330.

maybe to stay closer to your price range of $150, you could run that amp at 4 ohm and find a subwoofer that would be more suited for 750w rms

Yea im pretty sure AQ is having a sale on all of their subs right now because they are going to release a bunch of new stuff soon.

and btw dcollister440, I left a link the the AQ subs I was talking about in my 1st post. You can buy all of their equipment straight off their website and it is not gonna cost you "an arm and a leg" AQ actually has great prices.

Like Pimp said, Increase your budget a tad and the quality of your system will be much better. If you are dead set on ~$150, you will have a hard time finding ANYTHING new that will take 1500 wrms.

My vote says save up a little more and get yourself the AQ HDC3-15 D1 (specs: http://www.audioque.com/HDC315-Copper-Coil-Subwoofer_p_24.html)... $250 and it will DESTROY your little audiobahn setup.
