Can anyone tell me the amperage calculation. For instance if you're running a given RMS amp, how many amps it will be pulling off your car, etc. I've seen it mentioned on here from time to time but can't recall exactly how it works. Thanks

amps x volts = watts
use 12 volt as a standard

say you have a 200 amp alty

200 amps x 12 volts = 2400 watts

just a round about number

keep in mind this does not include your vehicles amperage needs

Awesome, thank you. That's exactly what I was looking for. The same could be said that watts/voltage = amps. So if you were planning on running a 1.5k system you would expect to need 120 free amps from your alt if you maintained atleast a 12.5 voltage.

keep in mind though your not gonna be drawing a full 120amps all the time. music is dynamic and you have imp rise to deal with. but it is better to be safe than sorry.
