I think AQ recommends in between 1.8 and 2.5 cuft per sub. So is that 1.9cuft before or after sub and port displacement?

That is after all displacement. I'd find out the tuning frequency on that box.

if its a box off ebay or something like that its just after port displacement, so sub displacement wont really take up too much space, but it will take up some space and raise the tuning..
so just make sure the box is around 32-35 hz and not up there like 40-42 hz
you want around 35 hz to give you a good sound with those 12s, they will pound hard man, i was thinking about getting some for myself but i never did

the boxes that ive been looking at are from sonic electronics. I called them about the duel 12" slot port box that i wanted and they said the box was tuned to 40 hz and there is no need to go any lower than that. He said that you would not hear the bass you would feel it. He also said that if i was going to increase my power that i sould get sealed boxes. So now im pretty confused on what to do. i am going to buy the sub that i posted at the top so i guess im not sure what encloser to buy for them. Im thinking of getting another D2200 amp, and have an amp for each sub but i dont want to have to get a different box if i do the two amp thing.
thanks for all the help.

dont listen to whoever told you that

below 40hz is definitely audible.....tuning 40 and above is generally considered high tuning - atleast for a daily driver

i doubt you will find anything comparable to his craftsmanship and cost

you dont need to have the subs for a box builder to make you the box, just let them know the dimensions of what u want and the cu ft after displacement, they can figure it out for you, but i say just make the dimensions yourself and measure the box when its done, if the dimensions are off, either dont pay for the box or talk them down on price since they messed up
