what is the phase switch 0 / 180? also should i have bass eq on which adds 8 db of additional boost to the sub output, i was wondering if its easier to clip the amp with this on. also i dont have a dmm and have my gain in the middle of minimum and maximum isnt this ok, i have an xplode hu if that helps.

Phase is a term used to describe the position of one sound wave relative to another sound wave, Two identical waves are 'in-phase' when the crests and troughs of the waves meet and are 'out-of-phase' when the crests of one wave meets the trough of another wave.

the bass boost can introduce clipping if the amplifier is set up incorrectly.
ideally it shouldn't be needed or used.

try both and see which gives more bass.
typically phase at zero should be fine.

It's really just to make the waveform from the subs and the rest of the speakers line up properly. Whichever position gives the best output, use it.

If you get a real good amplifier you get a variable phase control so you get the the phase of the waves lined up dead on.
