I have 2 kicker cvr 12s 2 ohm 400 rms each and a hifonics brutus 1210d. i have it wired at a 2 ohm load which i believed was pumping 900 rms. But since ive been looking into ways to improve my system im seeing alot of people are saying hifonics brutus are overrated. Ive seen that they only push 800-900 watts rms at 1 ohm load. Im wondering if i wire my subs to 1 ohm, adjust my gains. Can the subs handle it? or good chance theyll blow. i definately dont want that but i do want as much bass as i can get with what i have.

no it wont work you will get a half an ohm load which will fry your amp. an im confused you said your giving your subs 900 wired at 2. if im not mistaken that amp wired to 1 ohm would give you 1200 or some where around there which ould fry the speaker

The 2- cvr's if able to receive the full power of a bxi1208, would likely handle the amp if setup properly. I know it would not fry the subs immediately. but it is irrevalant as he has wrong vc configuration.

i have my voice coils wired in series and my subs wired parallel.which is a 2 ohm load. i was wantin to wire them parallel/parallel but have found that would make a 1/2 ohm load and will fry my amp. so im keeping it how it is. i followed the wiring diagram from

mark, you're kidding right????

wire the second voice coils on the speakers in series, so that each is at 4 ohms.

then wire them together.

ta-da. 2 ohms.

btw my bad i thought he DID need a 2 ohm load.
