^Next to an RE 8" and a Vifa 3.5"

Special shootout to JK, Rob, and Mark for the input in my last thread. And Paul for the vifa woofer! And yes this deserved a new thread lol.

So the APX is in need of a recone. Out of curiosity, what would YOU recone it as???

i recommend you recone it to a 18 and continue with the wall idea. single 18 in a wall > single 12 in a wall.

but on a serious note, i played halo for 3 hours tonight and sent you like 25 game invites. it said you were online but i guess not playing?

thanks for the "shootout" haha

D@mn my bad, I was listening to music for a little while, and just left my xbox on when I left.

But ya I'm def feeling an 18". Think I should I just recone it with atomic parts or try a frankenstein? How much power does an APX need to get moving properly and what can they handle daily?

that depends on what soft parts (coil) are used. you would probably not be able to mechanically overpower that motor.

if you go with atomic recone you prolly need about 1k and im sure it can handle 3k daily no prob

What is wrong with it anyway? Blown coil? Where do you plan on getting a recone kit for it?

^damn!

I thought he said the coil was rubbing. I'm guessing due to the suspension probably is sitting higher on one side of the basket. 2 different glues on each side of the spider, probably came undone and was a quick fix.

Not sure on the weight, 60lbs??? Gonna wait and get some opinions on softparts. I need to get the mini van going first lol.

^It's whats for dinner

Jon- Not sure what vehicle it's going in yet.

So today I free aired it and the coil only seemed to rub bad at high excursion, but even then it wasn't horrible. So I think I am going to glue the dustcap back on and drop it in my 12" box, just for sh!ts and giggles. This sub has a softer spider than a normal APX, so it should do a little better on the 1200w I have on tap.

It's a 10".

Today I put a baffle on my 12" box, box is roughly 2.7cf @ 36hz on 1200w. I was actually quite surprised by the output! The coil was making a good amount of noise, I'm just gonna pound the sh!t out of it til she blows. In the low 30 hz range this thing is a little monster! Can't wait until I get more power and cone area

Don't have a video camera. I'll see if I can borrow one, might wait until right before I do a recone and wall socket the bish! The guy at a local shop has a mic, might just see if he wants to mic it on the wall socket lol.

It's not THAT crazy, but it just really suprized the h3ll out of me figuring my circumstances.

My trunk car is just as loud on around ~3k with only a 15. I can just imagine what I could do with 7krms and a 10.
