Ok so I have little room to work in my truck. Heres what I need and what subs I am concidering.

Mounting Depth - 6.5 Max
Prefer SPL > SQ
$200 Max Per Subwoofer
2 Subwoofers

Heres what I am concidering IN ORDER any reviews would be nice.

RE Audio SE 12" x 2 = $250
Kicker L5 12" x 2 = $350
Alpine Type R 12" x 2 = $250

Any others? Im really leaning towards RE so tell me some good things about um please. Thanks!

Those things really pound? This is going in a crew cab mid size truck, not a whole lot of room and im upgrading from a single MTX 10" which is horrible. Im not going to compete with anyone, well maybe ;-) But these have better SPL than any of the above? Ehh SPL isnt everything. Right now im just goin for best bang for the buck. Thanks guys :-)

I'm glad the Classic is an SPL sub! Oh wait, it isn't...

Seriously you guys don't need to recommend RD to every freaking person on here. Don't get me wrong, I love the Classics, but it's not exactly what this guy is looking for.

Is that 6.5" from the back of the seat to the cab? or the depth of an enclosure you have already?

L5's would probably get the loudest easiest, but wont have near the SQ of the RE's. I haven't heard a Type R so I can't compare, but I'm gonna assume it's about a cross between the two. I think Type R's might sit too deep for you application, not sure though.

I heard a set of RE SE 10's ported @ 32hz on around 1300w and they sounded pretty good and got loud doing it. They are very good for the money IMO.

The RE SE is not an SPL sub either. He wants something to do nice in a sealed enclosure that gets loud and sounds good, the classic will do just that.
sealed

o and yeah i know but sayin i'm pushing rd on everone piss me off. i never done just rd i put other names out there too.

the only thing that came to me was the Classic's when i read his post

if you can fit 6 3/4 by lifting the seat or go with a ten you could do one Fi Bl

Of the listed drivers, I would select the RE SE. You should also check out the Incriminator Audio LI's, they are on sale right now.

Im really liking the prices on the Incriminator . Whats the story on those? Strictly SPL? Can they keep up with rock music or some rap for that matter or do they just make noise?

IMHO best bang 4 $ sub still remains the type R

RE SE is alot more on the SQ side than spl though they can get loud - my 2 10s RE SE does 139.8dbs

good value these days r audioque \ rd audio & FI subs ...

Its going to be a custom shaped box, trying to get the port right would take FOREVER. Its going to take up the middle seat of the bench in the back, its going to be an Flipped L shape. So one twelve will be on the bottom portion and the other 12 will be level with the passengers. Rasining the seat wont help cause most of my friends barely fit in teh back seat as it is. Becides theres about 5" under my back seat, which leaves shallow mount and thats just not going to cut it. I have an MTX 10" right now 4500 series. So the box will be a total of 8" wide - 1.25" for MDF = 6.75" Wide = Mounting Depth. I could make the box a bit wider if I needed but id rather not push it. Heres another questoin: My friend has 1 MA Audio 18" at 600rms.. yeah its a cheap sub but it pounds damn good for a sealed 18. What two twleves will blow this out of the water? That will make my choice a lot easier.

The bottom line is you're not going to get big SPL out of a small sealed box (and still have it sound good) any way you slice it.

The coice of subs has to be based on what works well in that enclosure..... and the RE SE and RD classic would both be good choices.
